FAQ
Indigo Health M.D. is a concierge, medical practice. It is a personalized wellness clinic run by Dr. Sonu Bhalla who has practiced medicine for over 20 years in anesthesiology and internal medicine.
In our approach, the patient panel is kept low, providing a more personalized service to each patient. We limit memberships thereby emphasizing quality over quantity. Furthermore, this practice combines modern, conventional medicine with Eastern principles, striving to elevate health care to its fullest potential.
We do not take insurance. Patient pays for services directly. The consultation is billed hourly and the membership plan is billed quarterly. Annual laboratory work is included for members. Additional diagnostics such as an EKG or pulmonary function testing are paid for by the patient. However, you may ask for a "super bill" which you can submit to your insurance provider.
This practice model does not replace traditional health insurance. Our office functions as a primary care clinic and a wellness clinic. We are not an urgent care or an emergency room, and we don't offer treatments outside of the scope of a traditional clinic. Dr. Bhalla strives to care for his patients proactively, thereby minimizing a life of disease. However, patients occasionally fall off a ladder, injure themselves playing sports, or otherwise require referral to a specialist. Patients are advised to carry insurance for such eventualities or for the potential of hospitalization.
Patients may sign up as members for $1980 to $2600 per year, divided in quarterly payments per year. The price of the membership depends upon age and patient complexity.
Relaxed, extended visits generally 2-3 times longer than a conventional practice; personal communication with Dr. Bhalla; the use of telemedicine; all appointments made within 2-3 days and some made the same day or next day; and principles that value prevention/wellness, along with healing, as the standard of care.
Some appointments are available that same day; many can be made for the next day; and all appointments are available within 2 to 3 days.
In the membership plan, patients get 30 to 45 minutes depending on their needs and availability. In certain cases, members may need even more time.
Many patients need just a quick answer or guidance over the phone. This is easily accomplished by the doctor himself who will generally respond within 24 to 36 hours. So, if you call Monday afternoon, you will get a call back by Tuesday morning or afternoon. In many cases, the answer to your question will be given within a few hours!
Dr. Bhalla will see people 18 years up to 99+ years.
